Why you need an AFM

The AFM (Greek tax identification number) is required for almost every important step in Greece: opening a bank account, signing a lease, connecting utilities, buying a car or property, applying for a residence permit, working or starting a business.

The AFM is issued once and stays with you for life, so it is important that your details are registered correctly from the start.

How we help

We review your situation, tell you exactly which documents you need, fill in the application and handle the submission at the tax office (DOY). If you are not in Greece yet, in many cases the process can be completed through a representative with a power of attorney.

Once your AFM is issued, we help you get TAXISnet codes for the online services of the Greek tax authority (AADE).

Next steps
